When this is complete, the flavor and aroma volatiles are added back into the wine, leaving it nearly alcohol free without stripping away the vital elements that give the wine its flavor.

While other alcohol reduction methods tend to remove a great deal of the flavor and aroma from a quality wine, the spinning cone column method has proven much more effective. With that said, however, there are still notable differences in the overall flavor of the wine that is produced, most notably in how the wine feels in the mouth. While some countries have resorted to adding pre-made flavors into their wines in order to compensate for this, leading Australia wineries are instead turning to better alcohol removal processes to ensure that the finesse of the wine is not lost when the alcohol is removed.

There is no doubt that Australia is the leading producer of low alcohol wines. The increased finesse and flavor of these wines gives them a distinct advantage over most other choices. The market for low alcohol wines is still small in most countries, but with improvements in making the wines without losing their finesse, there is growing hope that the wines will find a niche in the market. Low alcohol wines are increasing rapidly in quality, especially those produced in Australia, and a growing space in the market would certainly lead producers to work even harder to find ways to continue improving the taste and quality.
