Gate access is a great security feature for management and customers. An access controlled security gate is an indication the property manager values maintaining accountability and implementing safety standards for you and your belongings. When accessing your unit, utilizing your personalized access code for entry and exit, please be aware of the pre specified gate hours. Pay attention that you are only on the property during the time allotted for access. Should you find yourself in your unit past the predetermined gate access hours, unfortunately your ability to gain exit from the storage facility is very limited. You may be there until the gate hours resume access allowance which could be the next morning. If you are locked in, and the storage facility has a manager living on the property, you may be able to gain their attention if they happen to be on property. There is no guarantee they will be available after office hours. Do not panic. Remember it is a bad idea to try to drive through the lowered gate. It is an equally bad idea to try to call the business office, as the office is closed, and the only one answering the phones at night is the reservation services and they are usually not located on the property. If the property manager is not attainable and you are not interested in spending the night in your car, the last resort is to call the local Fire Department and they will be able to assist you. If there are any fees incurred for your liberation they will be your responsibility.
What happens if your account goes into default and you want to get into your unit after the office is closed. Your gate code will not work. Do not assume if you have gotten behind on your payments, that your personalized access code to gain entry into the storage facility is going to work. Measures are in place to restrict your access to the storage facility in an effort to get your attention to come into the office and resolve the balance due on your account.
The access gate will always allow you entry and exit when you are in compliance with your original agreement that you signed when you rented the storage unit. So pending on your ability to maintain a current account, you should have no problems coming and going. If your account goes into default, for whatever reason, when the storage facility accounting department tries to contact you, utilizing the information you provided on your rental agreement, please make every effort to come in and make a payment. You must contact the office during office hours and make your payment as soon as possible.
If the office is closed and you have received notification that your account is in default, please contact the office directly to resolve your accounting relationship and regain access to your belongings. Phoning the office after hours connects you to a voice mail system or reservation line. If your gate access code does not work, do not try to gain access to the property by following behind another customer accessing the facility with their gate code. If you do not exit the same time they do, when they leave, you will have no way to exit the property. If your gate code did not allow you access to the property, it will also not allow you to exit the property. Make sure you understand the amenities and safety features offered by the facility before signing the rental agreement, and what the consequences could be, should you find yourself not being able to pay your bill.
