Baby Showers - When Is The Right Time For Planning A Shower?
Are you planning on a special baby shower for a close friend or family member? If so, do you know when the right time is for having the event? Here's a look at some ideas to give you some help.
In days gone by a baby shower was always held before the birth of the new baby. Typically, they would be from one month to two weeks ahead of time. Today, that common practice is not so common anymore. Many opt for having a shower until after the birth of the baby for many reasons.
The reasons can be from the health of the mother to wanting to wait and see the sex of the new baby so that appropriate gifts can be given instead of everything being "neutral". The best tip is to discuss this with the mother and get her input as to her feelings.
Now that you know the right date to have the shower, how about a time? Most baby showers are on the weekend so that everyone can attend, but there may be times when you will want to schedule it during the week. You may want to make it in the evening to help as many guests out as possible with work schedules.
It is also a good idea to have more than one date picked out so that you can always fall back on plan B or C if you need to. You would be surprised at how things can change once you begin sending out invitations and getting more input from others.
