Baby Showers – Outside The Box

Everyone loves a chance to celebrate with an expectant mother. Getting together with the girls is a chance to gossip, have fun, and just be girls. However, if you are sick and tired of the traditional type baby shower, there are other options. While most baby showers are centered around getting things for the baby, you can choose to do something else. Here are a few great ideas for a baby shower that’s outside the box.

1. Have a girl’s night out. While you can still bring gifts for the baby, choose to have the shower at a casino hotel, or a nice resort. This will break up the traditional baby shower and give the guests something to remember. The expectant mother will be thrilled, because it’s one more night out with the girls before she is busy with the baby. Spend some time gambling, listening to the great music, and having a great time before proceeding to the room to give the gifts.

2. Get the guys and girls together for a couple’s baby shower. This can be really fun, and gives a chance for the couples to do something nice together. If you want to make it really different, choose to have the shower somewhere other than someone’s house. A great place would be a banquet hall or a favorite club. If you’ve got some really neat games, this idea can be a blast.

3. If you’re going for something that’s easier on the budget, get your back yard decked out with tables, tiki torches, and a barbecue grill. You can have great outdoors games like horseshoes, croquet or have a great time around the swimming pool. Have someone handy with the grill prepare some lunch, and the couples can mingle and have a great time.

4. A great idea for an outside the box type of baby shower, is to ask each guest to bring something small that is related to the year of the baby’s birth. The guests can place the items in a nice box for the Mommy to be. She can then give the gifts to her child when he or she is old enough to see the meaning and the differences between ‘then and now.’ This is a really cute and different idea.

Baby showers don’t have to be the corny and traditional ones we’re used to going to. They can be a blast if you use your creativity and imagination to come up with something unique and fun. Think about the Mommy to be, and what she’s into. This should help you come up with a fun and unique baby shower idea that’s ‘outside the box.’
