Bad Breath And Your Tongue - What You Need To Know To Cure Bad Breath
Taking a good look at your tongue every once in a while is a good idea, because it can tell you a lot about the condition of your digestive system. You may have been to a practitioner who had you stick out your tongue so they could look at it. If you take a look right now in the mirror, what do you see? Make sure you stick your tongue out as far as you can, and look at the back of the tongue, the part that normally is in the dark, closest to your throat. It is the back of the tongue, where there is little light and movement, that bacteria like to hang on to and feed and reproduce. This is the area where mucous from post-nasal drip lands and sticks, more nutrients for the bacteria back there. All ingredients in the deadly brew that can produce the foul gasses that cause bad breath. Ok, enough of this! How can we take control and eliminate halitosis due to inadequate tongue care? If you look at your tongue and notice a yellow or white-ish coating, this layer of “stuff” is contributing to your foul breath. How about cleaning it off, by either brushing gently with your toothbrush, or getting a tongue scraper? Cleaning your tongue every time you brush your teeth can help reduce, and possibly even eliminate breath problems. Another thing to do is make sure your mouth is moist all the time. Drink water. Or fresh brewed green tea. No sugar drinks and no coffee drinks, both of these encourage bacteria growth in your mouth, while water and tea do not, and they wash away the various ingredients of bad breath. Dry mouth may occur at night, because we naturally decrease the amount of saliva production while we sleep. Drinking a large glass of fresh, clean water each morning will help to re-hydrate your body, get the saliva flowing, and wash away some of the coating on your tongue. This can help if you have “morning breath” as well. An anti-bacterial mouthwash can also help if your tongue is not looking all pink and fresh. Use mouthwash that does NOT contain alcohol, since alcohol actually dries out the mouth, which we don't want to do. These are a few of the reasons your tongue can be contributing to halitosis. Take a look at yours, and perhaps you will want to gently brush it with your toothbrush, or get a tongue scraper. Good tongue care can help freshen your breath, and enhance your taste sensations as well. Get started today, and good luck! Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com -----
