Basic Etiquette For Baptism Invitations

A baptism is basically the formal introduction in your church of a baby to God. It should not last long, less than one hour in most cases, and will be done with your baby in the presence of family and friends. At least that is what currently takes place in most Christian religious practices. Churches today will sometimes hold baptisms during normal church service. Long ago, baptisms were held in private, but those days are long gone. The rules have changed and most pastors are getting used to the idea and incorporating them right into their normal church services. However, it is good practice to invite family members and close friends to attend your child's baptism.

Baptism invitations are important in preparation of the child for christening. This requires the creation of baptism invitations, which can be very simple or ornate. This depends on a parent's preference. The requirements to be included in these invitations include the name of the child, day, and location of the baptismal event. Baptism invitations will sometimes be highly religious or keep a low profile. Churches of today have done away with strict rules on how to dress while attending these baptismal sessions for the most part. This is to draw in new members to the church.

Baptismal events for a new born baby will call for a certain amount of planning. Parents must determine whom to invite to the ceremony before the invitations can be sent out. The subsequent baptism party should also be planned. These baptism events for the baby sometimes come with a limit on the number of people who can attend. Some churches limit the number of attendees depending on the size of the church.

When having your invitations printed, it is a good idea to include directions to your church for those who are coming from a distance. If you plan to have a party afterwards, you should also include information on the time and location.

You might also want to give your invited guests from out of town information on area hotels. A baptism should be a special kind of celebration. Try to keep that mood in your invitations and planning. Baptism is a special moment for family and friends. The invitations are used as a way of extending the joy of the arrival of the new baby with others. A child is welcomed into God's family, which is exactly what most of these invitations will convey.
