Bathroom Decor

When I finally got around to decorating my new flat it was an exciting moment. I’d been in five months and never had a chance. My job as an air hostess takes me around the world. The downside is that it doesn’t leave me much time to myself. Still, I’ve amassed a collection of items from some exotic places – Thailand, Australia, China, Japan, I’ve been to all and more. It makes for an interesting talking point when my friends come around. So does the rather dodgy decor!

One room that I am desperate to get to grips with is the bathroom. I have ordered a new suite for delivery soon and it will be put in by my brother. John is a plumber, so that helps. The walls are going to be tiled in a beautiful dark blue and white design, and the ceiling painted white with small spotlighting. I have bold ideas for the rest of the house, too, but it’s the bathroom that is the main focal point right now. That’s why i’ve been searching on the internet for contemporary bathroom mirrors – and I have some pretty certain ideas of what I want!

I’m not one to settle for the simple solution so out goes any suggestion of a white bathroom mirror - too simple and too stylistically at odds with my taste, although there were some lovely models to choose from. I considered an oval bathroom mirror and thought it may look good in metal, but they are not really the way I want to go. The problem with large bathroom mirrors is that they dominate, and in the back of my mind I always knew I would choose a lighted bathroom mirror – it’s the movie start dream! I have ordered one for delivery and will decide where to hang it when all else is done.

I chose this apartment because it is not far from my base and close to the transport routes. I don’t have a car so travel by bus. It’s cheap and convenient, and means I avoid the expense of maintenance and so on. There’s so much to do here that I am going to be busy for months. The bathroom is the first step – next comes the kitchen. I’m pretty certain that I know what I want in there, too, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if I changed my mind!
