Battling Acid Reflux Disease

We have all had heartburn at some point or another. Usually it springs up on us during the night after we have eaten some kind of spicy food like a pepperoni pizza or a bowl of five alarm style chili. But what if, however, you have that feeling of heartburn more often than after eating a spicy meal? What if nothing you try to do to make it go away actually works? Theres a good chance that you could have acid reflux disease, the type of disease that causes you to experience heartburn almost constantly as your stomach acid invade your esophagus.

But what do you do if you are diagnosed with acid reflux disease? You might feel helpless because all that most people could do is to simply sit and wait for that awful pain to come. There is more you can do though to get your body back on the right track – and the first thing you should start with is a daily dose of a prescribed acid reflux medication. When you are first diagnosed with acid reflux disease, your doctor will most likely give you a prescription for one of the many acid reflux medicines on the market. Take what he gives you and use it. If you have incredibly stubborn acid reflux disease and the medication does not help, then move on to something else.

At this point, some people will try to use various natural medications and herbal supplements – but those are totally a crapshoot and you never really know if they are going to do what they claim they will. But, if you are looking for alternative treatment for your nightly attacks of acid reflux disease, you may want to instead try out an acid reflux pillow that is perfectly designed to keep your body at a position that will lessen the amount of stomach acid flowing into your esophagus
