Neckties are basically fabric that is specifically designed to adorn a man's neck. Most of the time, they are tucked under a shirt collar and are then tied into a knot just below a man's throat. They are frequently donned as part of a dress code or as formal wear.

Next is the six- and seven-fold tie which is just a variation of the four-in-hand necktie. This type of tie is composed of two or more pieces of silk which are sewn together and then folded. The last type is the clip on tie which is a permanently knotted bow tie or four-in-hand style with a metal clip fastened to the front of the shirt collar. It is regarded by some to be inferior in terms of appeal, but is more appropriate to wear in certain occupations where a traditional necktie could be a potential safety hazard.
