Beauty Salons' Little-known Secrets

We have all had a nightmare beauty salon experience. We walk out of the salon with a cut, style and color that's a complete disaster. Or maybe we have a stylist volunteer to work with our type of hair or style that has just gotten out of school! Hopefully this deals with some of the issues that beauty salons have to help them avoid these situations.

1. If you see someone whose hair you like, make sure you ask them where they got their hair done, and the name of their stylist.
2. Make sure the salon is easy to get to from your home or work.
3. Make sure the stylist has experience with your type of hair, whether it is thick, curly, long or straight.
4. Search reviews of the salons on the internet by zip code.
5. Choose a salon that has a good feel to it, clean and inviting and where you are greeted right away.
6. Make sure the staff is dressed well and takes care of their own hair.
7. Choose a stylist that you enjoy being with.
8. Choose a stylist that gives you suggestions about conditioners or treatments to improve your hair's health.
9. A helpful stylist will give you tips on how to maintain your look outside the salon.

If your stylist meets all of these criteria, you have probably found the salon for you. As a client we expect to leave the salons happy with the services we have just received. If that doesn't happen, it's time to choose another. These tips can help you choose wisely.
