Becoming A Forex Affiliate - What Products Can You Promote?

More and more people are learning how to trade currencies either because they want to trade themselves or because they want to successfully promote affiliate products and services within this niche. However in this article I want to talk specifically about affiliate marketing, and discuss the two different types of affiliate programs that you can promote within this niche.

For a start you can simply promote basic forex products, just like you would in any other niche. For example you could promote home study courses, ebooks and online courses that discuss profitable trading strategies, forex robots or regular membership services such as charting software or trading signals, for instance.

There are many different products you can promote. However it's always a good idea to thoroughly test out a product before you start promoting it. This is absolutely essential in the forex trading niche because there is so much junk being sold on the internet.

If you do end up promoting some of these products you will not only have many of your transactions reversed due to a large number of refunds, but you will also destroy your reputation because people will soon change their opinion of you if you start flogging them rubbish just to make some extra cash.

The second type of affiliate program I want to discuss are those offered by forex brokers, which usually pay you commission on a cost-per-lead basis. There are many different online forex brokers available and a lot of them will have their own affiliate program.

However it's worth bearing in mind that the ones that do will usually be overseas companies because if they are based in the US or even the UK, for example, they will be heavily regulated and therefore unable to offer their own affiliate program. Instead they will only be able to offer deals for fully licensed introducing brokers. So the major problem you face when promoting a forex broker that offers their own affiliate program is that you will generally have to advertise this company to people who live outside of the US, which is usually where most people get the majority of their web traffic from.

Therefore the most productive strategy is to either focus solely on promoting forex products and services so that every one of your visitors is a potential customer, or promote both forex products and forex brokers so you can still make some money from your US-based visitors.

Both of these affiliate programs that I've discussed can be extremely profitable but I personally have always found it to be more profitable to stick to promoting the many different products and services that are available, particularly the expensive (and high quality) trading courses. However at the end of the day only you can decide which type of affiliate program you want to promote.
