acne is something that most people start worrying about when they begin puberty and stop worrying about, well, never! This is because acne affects people of all ages and doesn't go away once puberty is over. The good news is that most acne can be kept at bay. All you need is the right skin care routine! The following is a simple skin care routine that only takes a few minutes!
Step One: Cleanser.
Never use regular soap on your skin because the ingredients in regular soap can increase your skin's bacteria production! It might take a few tries to find a skin cleanser that works well with your skin. Trial and error is the best way to go about choosing the skin cleanser that works best. If you have sensitive skin, stick to organic products. If your acne is particularly worrisome, you might look for an over the counter cleanser that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
Step Two: Exfoliation
Exfoliation should take place after cleansing because it helps you shed your dead skin cells before they can clog your pores and cause pimples to form. Exfoliation doesn't have to be a rough process—a light exfoliant should work just fine. If you scrub too hard, you'll irritate your skin which can increase the occurrences of acne.
Step Three: Moisturize
Technically, if you are drinking enough water, your skin shouldn't need much external moisturizer, though some experts argue that at least a small amount is needed to replace the moisture lost during the cleansing process. There are plenty of natural moisturizers available (some you can find right in your own kitchen!). Don't go overboard on the moisturizer though—you don't want to accidentally re-clog your pores!
Remember, your skin needs to be cleaned twice a day to stay healthy!
