Best Knives For Women

Women have always played an active part in the outdoors, and manufacturers are finally starting to take notice. Both knife and gun makers have added more female-friendly lines to their products. Here’s a look at some of the top new gear for women.

Buck Knives’ Transport
The Transport is convenience and safety in one small package. Featuring a pink pearl handle, this small keychain knife has the Buck Knives’ patented button lock SafeSpin blade release, bottle opener and a lanyard hole for quick and easy attachment. The 1-1/4” closed blade is made of 420J2 stainless steel. Don’t be fooled by the Transport’s size; it’s a very worthy little blade.

Kershaw’s Ken Onion Chive
Ken Onion is one of the most well-known knife designers around, and his Chive line is solid evidence. There are multiple Chive colors and finishes available, even a colorful rainbow. The big win on this uniquely shaped blade, though, is the Speed-Safe opener: you get the speed of an easy automatic opener, but you also are protected from injury by the safety mechanism. The 420 stainless-steel blade measures just less than two inches, and comes with a belt clip.

Masters of Defense’s LadyHawk
A great defensive knife choice for women is the LadyHawk by Masters of Defense. The knife was designed by women’s world kickboxer champ Graciela Casillas-Boggs, who wanted a fixed blade crafted to severely wound any assailant who tried to remove the knife from its owner. The concealable blade is 2.6 inches long, and 5.5 inches in total length.

Ka-Bar’s Besh Wedge BOGA
Famous for their utility and fighting knives, Ka-Bar partnered with famed custom knife maker Brent Beshara to create the Besh Wedge BOGA (which stands for Back Off Get Away) as a self-defense knife for women. This versatile knife can be clipped inside a purse or pocket, strapped to a leg or arm, or even worn around the neck. The Besh Wedge has a 2-inch tanto blade made of stainless steel Ti-Ni, and also comes with a multi-functional hard plastic.

Cold Steel’s Ti-Lite
The Ti-Lite tactical folders from popular knife makers Cold Steel look like classic switchblades from the 50s, but these beauties are all modern in their crafting and safety. The blade is made from AUS 8A stainless, and the handles are from 7075 aluminum billets; both are given a bead blast surface. Although the Ti-Lite has razor-sharp edges and points, it also features stainless steel leaf spring locks, which tested to hold a weight of 130 pounds. This is a great lightweight folder with plenty of safety and speed going for it.
