Big Ticket Depot: A New Way To Sell Items, But Does It Succeed?
Big Ticket Depot is a new site that aims to sell people’s “big ticket” items. Think: Ebay on steroids.
A lot of people (you may be one of them) have had their net worth slashed as the economy has worsened and now have to sell off their items. Those people are not in the mood to throw even more money and would love to have an economical place to post their yacht, airplane, etc.
Big Ticket Depot, created by Joel Sauceda, attempts to take what Ebay DOESN’T do well–Cater to people with large, expensive items, provide a professional, personalized page, market it to millions, and do so for a cheap price. Currently people are stuck with inexpensive but impersonal Ebay, or professional, but outrageously expensive services.
BTD defines itself by offering professional looking pages to sell big ticket items at a reasonable cost to people advertising products. The way they’ve done this is to invest enough money to have professional software developers make a smooth bug free system (website, marketing tools) that will offer a system that is extensive and easy to browse, like Ebay, but is personalized to completely convey the quality of the expensive items that people want to sell. People needing to sell large items are strapped for cash and they certainly don’t feel like spending out huge amounts of money just to sell something that is already costing them too much. That’s just adding insult to injury. “Best of Both Worlds” is basically the theme here and, yes, they’ve done enough legwork and paid for enough talented people to have a system that actually delivers.
Big Ticket depot is well developed and based on solid business principles. Joel Sauceda has recruited well known people to done commercials, public radio interviews etc. On the BTD home page, you can click to listen to Joel Sauceda on the radio. He’s been in MLM and other marketing activities, and has been around a while.
To participate and make money, Big Ticket Depot offers members ways to succeed with banners, consistent communication and professional services.
One way that Big Ticket Depot has tried to created an immediate success is to work closely with those brokers to get the word out and advertise the new site to the public. Brokers are able to create their own pages for selling particular niches of products and provide a personalized interaction with people. Such a large base of motivated people is, in theory, able to answer more questions, more immediately and increase the quality of the service.
