Big Bird Visit To Perth, Australia By Qantas A380

Australia’s Perth based travel consultants from Travel Agency Best Flights were part of a select group invited by Qantas Airlines to board and tour the Qantas A380 in its inaugural landing at Perth, Western Australia. The actual size of the aircraft is amazing. Qantas have certainly pulled out all stops on this spectacular double decker. It is a clean new look from Qantas, with everything from seat back televisions to self service snack bars in economy class to the luxurious suites 18 inch LCD screens and full seat massage facilities in first class. Call centre operations manager Daryl Calder commented on the immensity of the flying giant that is the Qantas A380 which is valued at over $300 million to build.

The A380 is designed with 14 private single suites in the first class section which will cost passengers $22,000 a seat. Not the sort of tickets that you sell many of commented Daryl Calder, who welcomed the addition of the A380 to the Qantas fleet as he sees it increasing capacity demands for the London route.

Measuring in at 73 metres in length, the A380 will commence commercial operations in Australia from Melbourne to Los Angeles as of October 20. This giant of an aeroplane is destined to replace the previous Qantas stable of Boeing 747-400s. October marks the start of the Australian early bird flight and coach tours season for travel agencies with advanced bookings at heavily discounted rates. Best Flights has traditionally set the bench mark for early bird advanced travel sales in Australia and is expecting a lot of interest this year regardless of the pending economic times.
