Once you have decided to make cash out of your blog, it is time to step to the next level of blogging.
Think of a niche for your blog, one that you think is marketable enough and appealing to certain set of audiences. Then start blogging away, because the making money out of blogs is a slow yet a rewarding way. Even simple posts would do, as long as you tag each post appropriately and update it everyday, if possible. This is to attract traffic to come in your blog.
Traffic is important when earning money through blogs. The higher your traffic is, the higher your income may get. While working your traffic way up, take some time to also study and analyze certain blogging tools. Be familiar with these, such as RSS, feeds, search engine optimization, and others. Be also conscious of your page ranking and traffic stats, and try to use the power of contextual advertising. Yes, advertisements still play a role in making money out of blogs.
So where does all the money come from? As mentioned earlier, there are the ads. Do not shy away from them. A suggestion would be Google AdSense, where you are paid for every click that you get from the ads in your blog.
There are also the donations. Some blogs thrive on this. It can never be a shame to ask for these, especially if you have something good going on in your blog. A good and steady work will not be missed by those online altruists out there.
Once you get a stable earning, it would also be a good idea to hire people that would like to blog for you. This way, more entries will be posted in your blog, increasing the chances of additional traffic. It might also take some time off from you and enjoy your extra money for the moment.
Making money from blogs might not be rewarding at the first few months. It takes constant effort to build the first few dollars that you started to earn. And besides, this is something that you can both do for enjoyment and for extra money.
Think about it. The competition in blogging is getting tighter than ever. If you wouldn't start today, you would be left way behind if you decide later on that you actually want to make Internet money from your blog.
