Accessing your blog: As your blog will be on the web you should be aware that anybody can access it. Many blogs are also interactive which means anybody who can access it can leave comments on it. There are also dubious people who use software to send spam to many blogging sites which mean your blog could quickly fill up with a lot of spammed comments. However, when setting up your blog you have the option of either making it public or not. By not making it public you can give access to your blog only to selective people.

Designing your blog: When you create your blog you will have the ability to change and personalise its appearance to suit your own tastes. These changes can include different photos or people and products. You can also include a video diary. You also have the option of changing colors, fonts and headers. You can also arrange the way you design and position the content on your blog pages. There are many services that provide pre-designed templates that you can use with your blogging software. These can be fee paying but many you can download for free.

Being Interactive: A key difference with blogs and other sites is they are not static, they are interactive. This means that you can interact with other people’s blogs as they can interact with yours. You can leave comments, discuss and debate on subjects that you and fellow bloggers are passionate about.
