Bobby Brown’s Path To Gathering Of The Juggalos

Insane Clown Posse Members Admire Bobby Brown

There are many answers to that question. First, Violent J professed to being an enormous Bobby Brown fan back when both Insane Clown Posse and Bobby Brown were finding their place in the music industry in the early ‘90s. Even if you don’t necessarily enjoy his R&B flavored music, there’s no denying that Bobby Brown is talented. Horror rap or not, who can argue against booking talent at Gathering of the Juggalos?

Expanding Musical Genres at Gathering of the Juggalos

Secondly, even though Insane Clown Posse and Gathering of the Juggalos founders Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope show favoritism towards their native genre of horror rap when booking the Gathering of the Juggalos, that doesn’t mean Horror rap is the only type of music they enjoy. Enter Bobby Brown.

Violent J has expressed hope that if Bobby Brown and his R&B sound is received well at this year’s Gathering of the Juggalos, they can look forward to booking a more musically diverse roster of performers outside the horror rap genre at next year’s Gathering of the Juggalos.

How Did Bobby Brown Get Here?

If the one universal credential required to be considered a Juggalo and welcomed among Juggalos at the Gathering of the Juggalos is having to deal with a lot of BS, then saying Bobby Brown fits the bill is an understatement.

From being kicked out of bands to dealing with a number of record label and personal issues over the past two decades, Bobby Brown knows what it’s like to be misunderstood and will blend in perfectly at this year’s Gathering of the Juggalos. Bobby Brown is aiming to release his first full-length album (titled Masterpiece) in 14 years sometime this year, so keep an eye out.

Booing Bobby Brown Won’t Be Worth Your Time

It’s no secret that Juggalos take offense to artists they deem inauthentic at Gathering of the Juggalos, as was the case with Tila Tequila and Method Man last year. Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope know they’re taking a risk by booking an R&B artist like Bobby Brown whose style lies far outside the boundaries of horror rap, but have given him his own stage so that no die- hard horror rap fans will be caught there before or after another set.

So, if you’re looking to boo Bobby Brown, you’re going to have to miss another horror rap act to do so. However, after all that Bobby Brown has been through, it’s more likely that the sea of Juggalos present at this year’s Gathering of the Juggalos will embrace him as one of their own than rise up in protest.
