What Comprises Botox?

Botox is the brand name for an anti-aging procedure. On the other hand, botulinum toxin is what makes up Botox. This toxin might be familiar because it is the same thing that causes food poisoning that leads to paralysis if taken in large quantities. But in smaller amounts, it could be made into Botox, which could be beneficial for those who want to look younger. This treatment will visibly remove signs of aging like wrinkles and fine lines. Parties are held where people exchange Botox treatments while wining and dining. But a safer Botox and hair removal procedure must involve the assistance of a professional.

Which Treatments?

this treatment means you will be injected with the toxin to removes and diminishes frown lines, wrinkles around the eyes and forehead. The toxin, when injected on the surface of the skin is immediately followed by weakening of affected muscles where the toxin was directly applied. As the muscle relaxes the skin smoothes out. Not all Botox treatments are used for cosmetic purposes. Botox is also used to correct lazy eye or ease any swelling in the prostate glands. Botox is also applied to chronic pain conditions, headaches, any excessive sweating conditions or possibly a cramp from writing. These are common treatments in spas in Miami.

How It Operates

It does not affect the blood vessels but the nerves surrounding the affected area. It means that the communication between the nerves and the muscles where it is injected is actually blocked temporarily. Two days after the treatment, you will feel the results and then you will see smoother muscles equaling smoother skin in the area. This same reaction can relieve migraine headaches or muscle cramps or even that chronic pain. However after about 6 months they start reappearing. Many patients then have follow up sessions at this point.

The Side Effects

When you have your Botox treatments performed by a trained technician under the watch of the licensed doctor you will experience very few if any adverse reactions. You may end up with a headache, indigestion or nausea. Some people have flu-like feelings. However if you go to a clinic that specializes in the treatment the health risks are minimized. Be forewarned though that if you get the treatment too many times you will get that artificial plastic look.
