In 1997, Spears signed a recording contract with Jive, releasing her debut album …Baby One More Time in 1999. The album established her as a pop icon and “bonafide pop phenomenon”, credited for influencing the revival of teen pop in the late 1990s. After more albums and an attempt at a film, Spears started to become more known for her personal life than for her music.Spears began to gain attention for her bizarre public behavior, including incidents in which she shaved her head and drove with her baby on her lap. From a Pop Star Princess to a woman of rumor and scandals. She’s now facing a big meltdown of her career. Spears is now in a situation where the world is against her. After taking a brief time-out from the spotlight, it appears as though Spears’ career is perhaps in reboot mode. After appearing on a few television shows and releasing 2007’s Blackout, Spears is hoping to regain some of her past glory. Her next three albums debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, making her the first female artist to have her first four albums debut at number one.
