Bryce Harpers First College Game

Bryce Harper played his first college game for the College of Southern Nevada. Most people call the college CSV or the Coyotes. Like Lebron James, Bryce is already called professional baseball's chosen one. Bryce played his first junior college baseball game when he he should actually been a junior in college on January 29th, 2010 for the number one junior college baseball team.

Bryce is of course, the youngest on the team with players mostly of sophomore college age. Bryce has his brother Bryan playing with him. To look out for his brother, he transferred from Cal State Northridge.

With Bryce's power and ability to hit a baseball, he batted the third spot. Imagine this story at the age of 17 with over 100 pro scouts watching your every at bat and every catcher fielding play. Bryce will have to deal with this pressure every game he plays until he is drafted.

Even though this is Bryce's first official college game, he played fall ball with his teammates. He batted .375 with ten homeruns in those 10 fall league baseball games. This is very impressive because he is playing with baseball players 3 years more mature than him.

With his success in high school and hopefully in college, Bryce should be the number 1 draft pick in the 2010 MLB draft. It is projected he may play for the Washington Nationals. It sounds like he is going to be a multi millionaire at the age of 17! This would be such a great accomplishment.

With his future in front of him and him being so young, Bryce is lucky enough to have a coach that keeps him levelheaded. Coach Chambers, helps Harper concentrate on the game of baseball and stay away from the distractions. Coach Chambers has helped Harper grow and kept the pressure of Bryce by not allowing him to interview with the press. Every young player needs a coach like Chambers.

Bryce Harper is well on his way to be baseball's chosen on with his support system and early success in college baseball. It is my educated guess Bryce will do a lot more than be successful in baseball. The kid has a desire to win as a teammate, so I am sure he would like to see the Coyotes win a national championship and then help the Nationals win their first World Series. Or at least he would help them not finish in last.
