Build Your Own Website

It wasn't so long ago that creating websites was the domain of the computer nerd or programmer. The internet was much slower in the early days and you needed an understanding of HTML before you could attempt to build a website.

There were no programs like Dreamweaver available back then. Building a website was very labour intensive, and not something that just anyone could do.

Thankfully those days are well and truly over. Nowadays pretty much anyone can create a website, and for those who wish to publish or market on the internet it is a neccessity. Blogging is a phenomenon that is growing by thousands daily.

It isn't difficult to learn to build a websites today, as websites like My Space make this extremely easy. So easy in fact, that even complete novices can have their own internet space.

I have to admit that, I only recently built my first website. I had told myself that making a website was a waste of time - and there were more important things to do with my precious time. In truth, however, I was a little bit frightened. I knew so many experts out there who had made some very incredible websites, and I knew that mine would pale in comparison.

And my first website was that great, if I am honest. I didn't know how to build a professional site, but I gave it a go anyway.

When I got into my stride, I realised it wasn't that dificult after all. There is plenty of free web hosting out there if you look properly. I used a WYSIWYG web builder program which meant I didn't need HTML knowledge. It took about 30 mins to create a pretty good example with articles , blogs and pictures on it.

If you are interested in making a website with a more professional layout, it will take longer, but it is still nothing for you to worry about. Best of all, you will feel more included by your online friends, and you might just make new friends as well!
