Build A Homemade Solar Panel With Your Children. A Great Educational Resource.
Although i do promote a resource for learning how to very cheaply build a solar panel on my website i have had some very positive feedback from parents. It seems more and more people are using the information they have learned to not only build their own solar panels but are taking the opportunity to explain about the environment and the problems it faces to their children. Of course it is the next generation that will feel the effects of climate change and our dwindling resources more than us. We already have spiralling energy costs and this will only get worse. Having own own renewable energy sources is becoming more and more necessary if only to help us save on our bills. Having a great project we can get our children involved in and at the same time being able to explain how it is also a very important thing they are doing is a great and rare thing. If we can educate our children about the importance of reducing fuel and also showing them how easily they can make a difference both to the environment and to your and in the future their cost of living has got to be a worthwhile pursuit. Families are having a great time sourcing materials locally and cheaply and then having a great project they can all get involved in. At the same time the importance of what they are doing is explained. The experience of making their own solar panel means that those blue glass things on the roof actually have some relevance to the children and they will grow up i am sure with a better knowledge of environmental issues. So why not pick a few nice sunny days and get a great family project going.
