Buying Atv’s For Your Family

Buying ATV’s or all terrain vehicles for members of your family need not be a complicated process but can be a very daunting one if you have no idea what to look for in a ATV or quad bike. Having the correct know-how can help you choose the best quad bike for your children, your husband and yourself. You may discuss some of these details and topics with your dealer: quad bikes for different ages, the power of the make and model, the cost and the type of ATV that you like. There are two types of ATV’s or quad bikes: off road and road legal quad bikes.

ATV’s come in different shapes and sizes and these are intended for every age group. You can buy an ATV for kids, an ATV for teenagers and an ATV for adult users. Matching the right quad bike for a specific age will maximize the fun and the safety that goes with it. Every user must feel comfortable with the size of the quad bike so driving the machine can be fully concentrated on rather than worrying about how to properly hold the steering bars or reach brake and clutch pedals. Thus, ease in managing a quad bike is very crucial to avoid accidents as well. The right size for the age of the user can give confidence that he or she can control the bike under any circumstance or conditions. The power of ATV’s also applies for different ages. You can get the 50cc for kids, the 70cc or 110cc for teenagers and the 250cc for adult members of the house.

You should also consider the weight and the experience of the member of the family in riding quad bikes. It is best if you let each member of the family undergo quad bike training being offered mostly by ATV dealers at no extra cost to the buyer at all. ATV’s are very powerful machines, therefore, proper understanding of the machine’s capabilities and operation has to be learned by any age who would like to ride one.

The costs of ATV’s are quite affordable and are normally within the budget of the buyer. There are a few new makes and models that are really costly but it is of course to be prepared for if you really want to spend on a little luxury. A kid or a teenager’s quad bike normally averages £500. An adult quad bike can reach up to five grand depending on the size of the bike and its engine.

It is also important to discuss with your family the type of quad bike you bought or are going to buy. Not all quad bikes can be used on public roads and so tell them if the bike is just for private use… and you must be strict about this to avoid any accidents. An ATV or quad bike can really be a fun and exciting alternative transportation for every member of the family but don’t forget to provide each and every member protective or safety gear like helmets, knee pads, elbow pads and riding boots for maximum safety benefit.
