Buying The Best Espresso Machine For Your Home

If you are an espresso enthusiast, tired of spending five or six dollars on a cup at your local Starbucks, then you have likely decided that it is time to make the investment in an espresso machine for your home. You probably also know that the quality of the machine can make or break that perfect cup of espresso.

Picking the right machine is not as easy as one would think, there are a lot of options to choose from. Should you go for a steam driven machine? A budget espresso maker? Or the best top of the line machine that money can buy? Depending on your individual needs and desires, you can find an espresso machine from the low end of about forty-five dollars, to a high of nearly seven hundred dollars.

We have compiled a few points for you to consider when buying your espresso maker:

1. Pod models: You may be tempted to purchase a pod model machine because it is a lot easier to use, but if you are a true aficionado then the challenge of learning is where the fun is!

2. Steam-Driven vs Pump-Driven: You may be tempted to purchase a steam driven machine because they are generally cheaper than pump driven espresso machines, but steam driven models lack the ability to keep the correct water temps and they also lack the ability to generate adequate pressure levels.

3. Do you have a quality been grinder?: Of course you'll be grinding your own coffee beans right? Well make sure you invest in a top quality grinder, there's no need in having the best machine if your grinder doesn't make the grade! Avoid blade grinders because they aren't able to grind the bean finely enough to really make a great cup of espresso.

4. Does it meet the industry standards?: If you want your home made espresso to live up to your favorite coffee house's then your machine must meet the industry standards. It must be able to heat one and a half ounces of water to one hundred and ninety five degrees Fahrenheit while forcing it through seven grams of ground espresso at 130 psi in under 30 seconds. All those things combined will create that golden foam that espresso lovers desire and crave.

Overall, a home espresso machine is a great investment to make. Don't skimp on quality and you'll be enjoying your cup of java for years to come!
