Can-am Renegade 1000r - Fastest Stock Atv Ever?
The runaway speed and power come from a 976cc V-twin liquid cooled engine borrowed from Can-Am's Commander side-by-side. The chassis is hell bent on maximizing the motor’s strengths. The front upper a-arms are set further back than the lower. The independent rear suspension uses lighter trailing arms mounted lower at the pivot. The external sway bar is removable and the air box has been redone. One knock is that the Renegade does not have an optional manual transmission. The CVT transmission is simple to operate, all you have to do is choose between 2 or 4WD. There is no delay between throttle and take off, so do not lay into this one or you will find yourself on your back, experienced rider or not. The best way to put it is that the Renegade has one of the hardiest torque curves and top-speed capabilities ever made in an ATV. An overwhelming majority of the public could never muster the nerve to come close to tapping out this machine’s performance capabilities.
