Can Food Prevent Disease – Even Cancers?. Rules And Tips To Make It Work

The food you eat can make an enormous contribution to preventing disease, including cancer. Let’s be honest. Nobody can give any of us a sure-fire guarantee that we won’t ever get cancer.

There are no such guarantees in life, but there are certainly many ways in which we can ward off, even prevent many diseases, including cancer.

It’s no secret that the way we live and eat is directly linked to the diseases that plague our society. Many, most even, are largely preventable.

Fast food is the prime disease culprit - fast food that is not just confined to the local fish and chip shop, McDonald’s or pizza eateries. Would that it were so!

Rather we should look to the plethora of supermarkets and their produce. The many convenience foods from cereals, to snacks, to frozen dinners, provide convenient, fast, affordable and tasty ways of feeding our families quickly and easily. Our families will eat it without too much complaining, and so we succumb and buy.

But be assured we do so at a cost, a high cost which is ultimately the health of those we love most!

Sadly, our children have unwittingly been seduced into the convenience culture. Sugary, overly-salted and fat-laden foods have taken precedence over fresh, unadulterated produce. The ‘added value’ that the advertising gurus spend much time reminding us about, ensures that their palates have become sensitized, or even addicted to the artificial flavours on offer.

But if we really want to protect our families, then change has to take place and that change begins on our plates. Certainly, if you have been touched by cancer in any way, then change isn’t an option. It’s a necessity for the fight-back!

Perhaps in reading this you are thinking that dietary change is the answer, but in fact, it is only part of the equation - a large part granted, but only part.

Following the rules below will definitely serve to keep you and your family healthier than most.

9 DIET TIPS:

1. Make sure that two thirds of the food on your plate is plant-based, preferably raw as in salads. Cut down on meat generally.
2. Eat only organic eggs.
3. Eat a wide variety of vegetables, preferably organic, making sure you add garlic and onions, as these have powerful anti-cancer properties.
4. Use spices such as turmeric and Mediterranean herbs such as basil, mint and rosemary as they work against the growth of cancer cells.
5. Use only olive oil and organic coconut oil in your cooking, so if you need to free up some space in your cupboards, here’s your chance.
6. Avoid like the plague, all white flours, rice and pastas.
7. For the sweet-toothed amongst us (bearing in mind that cancers thrive on sugar) try to satisfy your craving with seasonal berry fruits and low-sugar fruits.
8. Cook from scratch! That way you will have some understanding of what you are eating. Reading food labels will help you sort the wheat from the chaff. However, cooking from scratch will ensure that you don’t have to be label-alert.
9. If you are a potato lover, heed this warning. As a starch, potatoes raise one’s blood sugar level which can then go on to feed inflammation which can lead to cancer.

These efforts will go a long way to prove that food can prevent disease.

6 EXERCISE TIPS:

1. We should all be exercising more. Choose your own form of exercise, but make it one you enjoy. That way you will be more inclined to stick with it. Decide on a time and place that fits in with your lifestyle and commit to doing it regularly. Breathe deeply as you do so, a great stress reducer!
2. Exercising in the fresh air is a good thing to do as it will promote higher levels of vitamin D in your system. By the way, do NOT use sun screen. Not only is it highly toxic, but also it will also work against your absorption of vitamin D. Just ensure that you exercise at safe times and avoid sun damage. Short bursts of sunshine are what you should be aiming for.
3. Avoid chemical usage as much as possible. With a steam cleaner it is possible to clean at home without resorting to chemicals. Think of the money you will save on an annual basis!
4. When buying clothing, check to see that you can wash them. Dry-cleaning is a chemical feast for your clothes. If you must have your clothes dry-cleaned, make sure you air them outside in the environment before wearing them again.
5. Also, check out cheap and cheerful baking soda usage. It’s safe, it’s SO cheap and you will love the results!
6. Stay in touch with friends. Laugh and love. It’s a sure-fire way to optimal health.

Finally, think yourself free of cancer. You know your mind is one great healer. If you think you’re going to get cancer, then perhaps you will. But how about clearing out your mind, about thinking positively and about effecting your own healing? It’s not beyond reason.

That combined with a great, powerfully healthy diet far removed from supermarkets and their dangerous processed foods, could set you off on an amazingly healthy journey. Food can prevent disease.

It is unquestionably worth a try.
