Can I Work Out My Abs Every Day?
One should take note that in order to build muscles, the body undergoes three phases. The first one is the muscle breakdown phase, which happens when you do abdominal exercises or any other type of workout. In the second phase, the body tries to rebuild what was broken down in the first phase, hence the muscle repair and recovery phase. It is important to note that this stage happens when the body is at rest. Finally, muscles are added to your body's bulk in the third phase, which is why you get stronger and more visible muscles in the long run. Understanding the three phases of muscle building emphasizes one good point - that your body needs time to rest. Otherwise, you will only feel more fatigued and burnt out. Plus, you also would not get the results you want quickly, and it will take you more time than usual to get to your goal of having ripped abs. The key to having quick results in your abs routine is to lessen the frequency, but increase the intensity of your abs routines. Ideally, you can choose to exercise around three to four times a week, since the in between days allow your body to heal and repair itself. Doing abdominal workouts for 60 minutes per session is also enough for achieving the best results. If you feel that you are approaching a burnout, take at least a week to let your body rest. Afterwards, you can continue with your workout routine.
