Can Just Anybody Learn Self-hypnosis?
Information about self-hypnosis, which will make it easier to learn, is the awareness of the two parts of the human mind. The conscious and the subconscious. Things you do on a daily basis, the way you behave and habits, the things you like and don't like, stay pretty much the same. These things have been ingrained through out your life by means of events and associations with other people and their opinions. Repetition has also played a very big part in making you the person you are today. On the whole, most people are probably 80-90 percent happy with who they are, but, sometimes there are things which we do not like and we know we would be happier without them. These things can often seem impossible to change as your subconscious holds onto them in its perpetual battle for supremacy over the conscious, a battle it always wins. Self-hypnosis can provide you with the techniques and through hypnotism, you can access your subconscious mind and reprogram it with the information you want it to have. When you first start to learn self-hypnosis, you will need to gain the ability to completely relax. This can be achieved by sitting or lying down in a quiet place, concentrating on your breathing and counting down from 20 to 1. It will also help to visualise being in peaceful surroundings, a riverbank on a sunny day or a quiet wooded glade. Doing this will have great effect on your emotional, physiological and mental state, as it is not possible for the mind to differentiate between reality and fantasy. The more you use self-hypnosis the easier it will be to learn the techniques required to get the most from hypnotism. One important thing to learn is how to make the suggestions needed whilst in a trance, to make the changes you are trying to achieve. If you were having a session with a professional hypnotist they would guide you, if you are practising self-hypnosis you must also master self therapy. This is possible through the use of well prepared hypnosis scripts, which will be repeated once you are in a hypnotic trance. Once you are more aware of the ability to enter hypnotic trances you will see it happens more often naturally than most people realise. Reading a good book, driving, even watching television can all bring on a hypnotic trance. The great thing about self-hypnosis is the power it gives you in controlling your mind, moving away from harmful habits and achieving your goals.
