Can You Be More Specific In Your Headline?

The more specific it is in your headline, the more it will convert.

If you want people to buy your informational e-book that teaches people how to increase their sales, do not just say in your headline: "It will boost your sales by 100%".

Would it not be more tempting if you say, "It will boost your sales by 117%"?

Normally, people are not too excited by round numbers, and would have the impression that these figures are fake and is something being made up. Even if your survey's result show that it is a 100% improvement whenever you had tweaked your headline, it is still not advisable to say it is 100% although it is true.

Go for 117%. Most people cannot figure out how much is 100% or even 117%. As long it is more than a round number, it is perceived as a good buy.

Better still if you can take a step further and quantified it by saying: "Save $25.79 if you buy today".

Most would think a $25.79 saved, is $25.79 more money for them to spend, and it will be a good idea to buy it.

See, if you are broad in your copy, there is a chance that a lot of doubts are cast on the reader's mind, and you are guaranteed you will be losing some sales here.

But if you are dead specific, there is no room for them to raise any questions. Actually, it is like you are making up their mind for them.

It is not a sneaky technique but it plays on people's desire for savings and ownership. They would love to own the product but at the same time they saved by not having to pay the full price.

So, take a minute and go back to your sales page or your sales letter and check if you could be a little more specific in your heading.

Perhaps from the lessons learnt above, you are able to detect your own flaws and do some adjustments to your headline. You will be able to find that your sales have increased considerably after you have done so.

Remember to make your reader relate to you in your heading if you want them to trust you.

They like you when you help them to save the $25.79 by buying from you.
