Can You Watch Tv On Your Laptop Computer Using Satellite Direct Software

This is a review of our experience with Satellite Direct.

Satellite Direct is advertised as software that enables you to watch TV on your PC. Apparently, SatelliteDirect’s software technology taps into more than 3,500 TV channels worldwide right over the Internet. No additional hardware or installation is needed. All you need to use it is a computer with an internet connection.

We thought this was a great idea for our next trip in the RV. We would be able to watch our favorite TV programs on the laptop whenever we had a strong enough wireless internet signal to get a connection, which would be in most places on our planned travels.

So we bought the Satellite Direct software online for $49.95. There seemed to be no problems downloading and installing the software on the laptop. So far so good.

But as soon as we started using the Satellite Direct software it quickly became apparent that it did not work as described. There were nowhere near 3,500 channels worldwide. According to the sales page, there are 331 channels for Australia. We couldn’t even find 20, and some of those did not display anything when selected. The channel labeled “Channel 9 News” played a one-week-old snippet from that news program. Whenever selected it played the same segment. It did not update daily. It did not even update weekly.

At first we thought we might have screwed something up so we emailed customer support and waited patiently for a reply. Over a period of 3 weeks we sent 6 emails to no avail. We have never received a response. It seems that Satellite Direct’s customer support team ignores all emails.

Is Satellite Direct a scam?

Yes, Satellite Direct certainly is a scam! It does not work as described. Not even close. And there is zero after sales support for the product.

Stay away from Satellite Direct and save your money.
