Canon Pixma Photo Printer

Canon is one of the most well known companies when it comes to photo capturing and photo printing. In the recent years, they have continually expanded their home office products to include a huge variety of abilities. Most recently, Canon has added a series of printers called PIXMA – the majority of devices in this category are “all in one” printing modules. The Canon PIXMA photo printer usually includes some of the most high tech and innovative printer features available on the market, but at a price that is extremely affordable – the average Joe can afford these features that used to be limited to huge corporations. Now, also, large businesses are able to get the same job done with a considerably lower cost, as these newer units are just a fraction of the cost of some of the alternatives.

PIXMA was started by Canon a few years ago as a new brand of printers and multi function devices. The goal that Canon had in mind for this branch of products is to have well designed, powerful, and affordable printing products available for consumers to purchase. Canon has combined three printing technologies (EOS Digital, Bubble Jet Print, and imageRUNNER) to maximize quality and performance speed. One thing that is common among all products under the PIXMA label is that they all are compatible with photolab software, allowing users to quickly enhance the quality of an image before printing it out. Also, Duplex printing (printing on both sides of the paper) is shared among this family of products.

Many of the PIXMA devices are multi-function, although there are a few models available that are single function printers. Usually, features included are a screen (sometimes a touch panel, but not always), a scanner/digital copier, as well as a fax machine.

Although at first Canon was not sure if the new line of products would be met with much public appreciation, the past few years have proven that they made a very wise business move. Now, there are literally dozens of printers in the PIXMA family, and they are becoming more and more common among homes and business each day. We’ve already mentioned some of the great features that draw in consumers, but there is one additional factor that has played a huge role in the widespread success of PIXMA printers – the price. While it’s not uncommon to pay near or above $500 for a multiple function printer, Canon offers some models for below $100. This low cost design (without sacrificing any quality, of course) has encouraged many people to give PIXMA a try.

In the future, Canon has already stated that they plan to make the PIXMA family of printers continuously innovative while keeping the price down. If you own a business, or if you could use a multi function printing device at home, then you’ve probably found what you need – there’s no need to look much further, as no other brand can consistently compete while retaining a high printing quality. PIXMA is definitely a smart choice for people who want to get the most out of their printer.
