Care Vs Sittercity: Babysitter Site Reviews
Care Care is an online babysitter service that aims to connect parents seeking care providers with a national and local network of trusted sitters started in the spring of 2007. The website offers expert advice and practical tools for finding babysitting resources that parents are looking for nationwide. Sittercity Sittercity is a privately-owned corporation founded in 2001 by Genevieve Thiers with just 20,000 flyers. She worked to spread the Sittercity message all over colleges in Boston on foot. By its official opening, it had listings for over 600 babysitters. Growing every day, they now have hundreds of thousands of babysitters in all parts of the United States. They have offer nannies, petsitters, housesitters, elder care providers, and tutors. Which One to Choose? Both sites offer the ability to post jobs, read babysitter profiles, see references, and even run background checks. Both have quality websites and helpful information. However, running a check on several local communities gave very different results. For example, one suburb we tried had over 300 babysitters listed within the local area on Sittercity. For Care, we found only 30. This was not uncommon. The price of Care was cheaper for a one month sign up (due to Sittercity's signup fee,) but it was considerably less expensive to use Sittercity for a longer period of time. Both sites might give you great sitters, but Sittercity has been around longer and seems to give you a lot more for your money, especially if you plan to use the service on an ongoing basis.
