Carpet Cleaning And What You Should Ask Your Carpet Cleaner

If you’re seriously looking to hire a genuine carpet cleaning professional you will be glad to know you have these five questions in your back pocket to ask any cleaning company before you hire then that puts you in complete control. After you ask these five questions of a cleaning company you can feel comfortable knowing the cleaner you choose to hire is more than likely going to deliver a genuine and honest carpet cleaning job for you. Here are the five questions.

1. Can you fax or email me a copy of your guarantee? When you ask this listen to their answer and if they can’t convince you they know what they are talking about you should consider scrapping them off your list of possible carpet cleaners. Do your best not to get caught up in the price war if you insist on shopping for the best price as you will only attract the worst kind of carpet cleaners. Typically you will hire someone cheap but when they are in your home they inevitable use bait and switch techniques to trick you into paying more. This is how they make a living and they are very good at it. When a carpet cleaner tried this tact you should be aware it is nothing more than a trick to fool you.

2. How many trade associations are you aligned with and which ones? If the carpet cleaner is not a member of any trade association it does not necessarily mean they are not a good carpet cleaner. By them being a member it simple indicates they are taking an extra step to try and prove themselves as a genuine carpet cleaning technician. This is a small plus. The IICRC, ACCI, NUCCA and wool safe are a few names to look for with credibility. There are some others that they may be a member off but these are some of the main players.

3. Do you have a portfolio with your insurance details included? Insurance is one of the most important points when talking to a carpet cleaner. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve heard about a carpet cleaner who broke or ruined something in a customers home and they didn’t have the money or insurance to cover it. These so called carpet cleaning technicians are no more than criminals in my eyes. They pray on the week and that is just a cowardly act. Remember to be super clear when asking about viewing the cleaner’s insurance details. Without proper insurance I highly recommend you don’t hire that carpet cleaner.

4. What cleaning certifications and licensing do you carry? Because what most cleaners will tell you over the phone is utter nonsense you really should be sure to view any certifications they say that have. Be sure to take a not of the following... When viewing a cleaners certifications it is not so important that it is a currant certification as it is that they have actually passed to earn this certification. Just as long as they have completed the lessons is sound enough to say they have wisdom on proper carpet cleaning techniques. When you hear excuses of the amount of years experience they have I highly recommend you not hire that cleaner. It’s not that they are not good at carpet cleaning, it is simply a fact they have never had formal education at a proper carpet cleaning course. Think about it like this, do you believe you would pay for an electrician to work in your home id he or she was un licensed? Then why would you hire a carpet cleaner if he or she is also unlicensed? In all honestly, how expensive are your carpets? If they are too expensive to replace then what’s the difference?

5. You know there are hundreds of carpet cleaners, why should I use you? When you ask such a question you will find only the prepared professional will be able to answer with a precise and authority answer which is what you are looking for at this point. At this point it is wise to listen carefully to their answer. If they don’t sound like they have a very good answer then I would be wondering how good they really are. If you are an expert at something you should have a really compelling answer to such a tough question.

Please take note, if you don’t see some kind of written proof that shows their answers to your questions are true then I would highly doubt the cleaner’s word. So be sure to sight some form of evidence. I say this because the story you are told on the phone may be very different from what you actually receive when the cleaning technician arrives at your home. Should a company promise you the world but deliver not what they promise is more than enough for me so say no. In an industry of carpet cleaners where the major part are only there to take your money and run it can be challenging if you are not prepared as a consumer. Unfortunately it has been a lesson learned by many people. You will understand if you have ever been through such an ordeal and know precisely what I’m talking about.

It is sad to know there are so many carpet cleaners who prey on unsuspecting consumers. Like the big guy with his mates picking on the little guy in a primary school play ground. It just shouldn’t be allowed. You merely need to do a simple Google search on carpet cleaning to see what is going on.

I really hope this short incite has opened the eyes of some of you and is able to help you the next time you are looking to hire a carpet cleaning technician.
