Catharsis? Write An Online Story

Just as some people would like to keep diaries to write down their fantasies, dreams and heartaches, some people prefer to write what they have in mind in a medium that has recently been gaining a following – the cyber world.

The World Wide Web offers a great venue to vent out one’s frustrations, emotions and hopes. It allows the writer to be heard by millions of people without exerting much effort.

Some people write online stories because it is their means of escaping from the monotony of their work and life’s doldrums. Some write in quest for new things yet to be discovered. Others write because they want their ideas to be heard by other people. Still, others write stories online as a form of antidote to forget the bitterness of past memories, much like how people share their heartaches and disappointments as a form of catharsis.

In order to write a story online that would keep your readers glued to the end, you would have to, first and foremost, write from the heart. Share things that matter to you most and you would notice that words would just flow naturally from you. Do not be afraid to express any emotions that you have and do not worry how people might perceive you. Close your eyes and try to remember the exact moment when that story came to you and write about it. Grammar and spelling should be the last of your worries when you write online stories.

Once you have written down what you feel, that’s the time for you to review your work. Check how you have constructed your sentences. See if our ideas and words flow in an understandable and logical manner. When you have done this, the only thing left to do is to publish your work.

When people write story online, they are encouraged by the fact that somewhere out there, there could be an anonymous soul relating to the story they have written online – at least in the cyber world, that is. There is no other joy a writer can possibly get than to be appreciated for the online stories he has written. It is more than a trophy, more than winning an award when somebody you do not know personally tells you he has been inspired with the way you write online stories. It is more than a reward for the painstaking effort you’ve done, for all the troubles and memories you had to relive just so you can write those online stories just the way you want them.
