It has been debated on many sites who will be the next villain, and most recently Catwoman is now the focus of all the rumors and there are several possible ideas that are in the mix. There is no proof that there will even be Selina in the next film, yet huge names such as Cher and Angelina are being cast as the next Selina Kyle.
This could all lead to some serious hype for the next movie. Nolan hasn't exactly been jumping at the chance to do the next movie, not because he didn't enjoy the first two, but a third movie never really lives up to the hype. So adding extra hype might even drive Christopher Nolan out of the picture.
For this film to be great, it won't need super actors, it already has a pretty good group. It is going to have to keep Nolan.
So why all the interest in Selina. Catwoman is very popular, Catwoman has been featured in most media adaptations related to Batman. She is also a love interest of Bruce Wayne's, this adds quite a bit to any story She has been played previously by Julie Newmar, Eartha Kitt and Lee Meriwether. Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed the character in 1992's Batman Returns. Halle Berry was the latest and starred in a stand-alone Catwoman film in 2004. Seems that they will go with a completely different girl as the next Selina Kyle.
All this being said, the stars mentioned as the next catwoman have not even been signed, most likely not even approached. Plus the fact remains that Catwoman might not even be in the next one. Other actors like Brad Pitt are big time names mentioned to play Nygma. Only time will bring us better clues to the future of Batman
