Causes Behind Acne

Amidst various other skin problems, it is acne that stands to be the most common. This skin problem affects people irrespective of their age groups. There are several factors that could be responsible for that nasty pimple on your face.
The primary cause of the ailment is the abnormal shedding of cells inside the hair follicles. The shedding causes the creation of a cap which may expand or burst the follicle. When the follicle bursts, it splurges up its oil and debris on top of the skin, an event that ultimately gives rise to conditions like puffiness and inflammation.
Common skin bacteria which flourish on the surface of the skin can also give rise to acne. There is a particular acne causing bacterium, called propionibacterium acnes, which dwells on the skin surface. Such bacteria secrete substances which can irritate the skin or give rise to inflammations. It is also an acknowledged fact that these bacteria generate enzymes which react with the oil secreting oil glands, also called sebum, by melting and turning them into skin irritants. They cause any soreness to irritate.
Hormonal problems may also cause acne outbreaks. Particularly the androgen hormones have been identified as a main cause behind acne. Though these hormones are there in both men and women, they are primarily found in men. They widen the size of sebaceous glands and also make them secrete large amounts of sebum. The rise in sebum levels leads to creation of plugs which provide ready nutrition to bacteria. These hormones are mainly active in teenagers and also cause the growth of armpit and pubic hair. They are also the main cause behind teenage acne.
Contrarily, the female hormone estrogen is much more likely to have positive effects on acne in ladies. The menstrual cycle happens due to intermittently altering hormone levels in a woman's body. Acne breakouts follow these hormonal fluctuations, with the condition improving or worsening as the cycle continues. Nearly all doctors prescribe an anti acne product in combination with contraceptive tablets to deal with acne while maintaining proper levels of the advantageous estrogen hormones at the same time.
Family genetics also play a role in acne breakouts. Chances are if either of your parents had suffered from acne at some point of their lives, you will get it too sooner or later. However, the exact genetic factor behind this phenomenon is yet to be determined.
[**] there are some substances which have been recognized as acne triggers but usually do nada to cause the condition or worsen it. Oily food and chocolate for example have been long said to be first activators of the condition. However [*COMMA] it's an urban parable and they have little to do with acne development.
Diet, stress and absence of skin friendly vitamins might be responsible for an acne breakout. But however, you can dispose of acne using OTC anti acne products such as the Exposed acne solution System.
