Chakra Meditation For A More Balanced Life
There are seven main chakras located along the centerline of the body: the root chakra, sacral chakra, solar chakra, heart chakra, throat chakra, third-eye chakra, and the crown chakra. Each chakra is an energy center that relates to different parts of the body and different areas of life. When doing chakra meditation, focus on one chakra at a time in order (first root, then sacral, then solar, etc). The root chakra is the foundation of the chakra system. Just like when building a house, you first need to build a solid foundation and then build from the ground up; you don’t start with the windows or the roof. Chakra meditation offers several emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual benefits. While meditating on each chakra individually presents unique benefits related to its energy center, chakra meditation in general provides many overall benefits as well. Some of these benefits include reduced stress, better sleep, heightened creativity and resourcefulness, more patience, lower blood pressure, less pain, a better sense of peace, and a higher spiritual understanding and connection. When used daily, it can lead to more productivity and better moods. Practicing chakra meditation for 15-20 minutes first thing in the morning can help to prepare you for the day. The slow breathing and special hand gestures (mudras) can put you in a calm mindset and allow you to prepare to take on the day. Imagine starting the day relaxed and better able to organize the day ahead. Beginning the day refreshed can help you to more efficiently handle unexpected events and plan changes. If it’s a particularly stressful day at work, take 15-20 minutes during lunch for some quiet chakra meditation. It can help to ease the tensions of the mind and body, allowing you to focus better and find more creative approaches to handling stressful situations that arise at the office. A calmer mindset will allow you to better handle time, people, and issues. For stay-at-home moms, instituting a quiet time in the middle of the day can be beneficial for both the parent and the child. While the child is sitting quietly, taking a nap, reading, or maybe coloring a picture, mom can participate in chakra meditation and clear the mind. With a clear mind, it is easier to organize thoughts and to-do lists, as well as handle a screaming toddler. Winding down at the end of the day with chakra meditation is a good practice to get into. It will allow you to release the tensions of the day before crawling into bed. The benefit of this is a deeper, more restful sleep. You will wake more rested and able to tackle the new day. When the sleep is more restful, your body can survive better on fewer hours of sleep as well. There are many benefits to practicing chakra meditation daily including leading a healthier, more balanced life. To start gaining more control of yourself and your life, start by practicing chakra meditation for 20 minutes once a day and you will start to notice some immediate results. As you start to make chakra meditation more of a habit, you will see even more results in the long run. Take charge, and start running your life today. Don’t let it run you.
