Champion Printer Review For Canon Pixma Mx870
Measure the mx870 printer outward, it's 9 x 20 x 17-inches and weighs over 25 pounds. On the surface of it, the small silk-screened MX870 logo atop the LCD screen on the top, and the bodies of the two AIOs are identical. Humanization designed printer is easy to operate. The controls surround a small, angled color LCD screen, which we had mixed feelings about. The position of the screen is fixed and does not swivel. The appearance of the screen is good, though: Its type, while small, is quite legible, and the menus are logically structured and easy to figure out without cracking the printer's online manual. Underneath the receiver tray is an adjustable paper cassette that holds up to 150 sheets. It's flimsy, and the guides that help it slide in and out of the printer aren't tight or long, so it tends to flop around in a way that makes inserting or removing it more difficult than it should be. Although there's no dedicated photo-paper slot or tray, a second adjustable pull-up paper tray lives at the rear of the printer. There is built-in duplexing, which means it will automatically flip paper over to print on the backside to save paper. You can connect a camera via the USB PictBridge port and print right from there and the same thing goes for memory cards (CompactFlash, SD, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, xD) and USB thumb drives. Photo previews are shown on the front-facing 2.5-inch color LCD display. Canon pixma mx870 take full advantage of Canons fantastic Wi-Fi printing technology and print your photos wirelessly from compatible iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPod touch devices with the new Easy-PhotoPrint for iPhone App, available for free on the app store. Text quality with the MX870 is very good and seemed crisp and well-formed at the usual font-sizes. Color graphics printed quickly and looked good, but we should note the printer did seem to lay ink onto the paper quite heavily at times, which may lead to decreased life of the cartridges.
