Once you've realized what aspect of your life you want to change, it's critical that you prepare yourself for battle against the "I don't like change" part of yourself. Humans generally don't like change. Even though we know its for the better our mind sometimes fail to distinguish the difference. The best way to overcome this obstacle is to know what "mind traps" lie ahead. This will enable you to consciously recognize them when they come up which will enable your to barrel through regardless. * Stage 1 (Defiance) - This is the first 10 days where the going is tough. Your body and mind is not use to the change but your motivation from your new found awareness manages to get you through this period

* Stage 2 (Resistance) - The second stage that last about 10 days is the toughest. This is when knowing your "why" is important because the part in you mind that doesn't like change realizes that permanent change is immanent. It rebels by finding every excuse possible to skip a day of your new practice or it tries to find some other activity to distract you

* Stage 3 (Acclimation) - This is the time where you start seeing and feeling the benefits of your new ritual. You start enjoying it more and your mind starts to accept the change and starts thinking of your new habit as normal

* Tipping point - After Stage 3 your new habit becomes a ritual and a part of your every day life. Its no longer a hassle or nuisance

Making the decision to change your life can be both scary and exciting at the same time. The power of accepting full responsibility of your life is important. Realize that every decision you have made, every action you have taken or failed to take has led you to this point.
