Bacteria that can develop in dry dog food while it is being processed can harm your dog. This dry dog food can pick up extra bacteria if you take it home and add liquid to it before your dog eats it. By-products that are included in a lot of dog food products come from the leftovers of animals. Some dog food manufacturers include the nastiest part of the animal in their products. These by-products include animal parts such as the intestine, the bones, unborn baby animals, and also the blood of an animal, among many others. The Food and Drug Administration has had a hard time regulating some products that are included in cheap dog food. It is still allowed today for manufacturers to include animal parts that come from diseased and disabled animals. Most commercial brands of cheap dog food include some form of additives in their food to keep it from going bad on supermarket shelves. It has not been decided whether these additives can be toxic to animals or not but it has been a topic for discussion.
