Cheap Flight Tickets Help The Aviation Industry During Recession

A 10.90% inflation rate in 2010 shook the way the average Indian spent his money. With prices of basic commodities like food, ration, fuel, etc spiraling upwards; savings had become almost negligible, as the income of the people remained more or less the same. 2009 saw the worst of recession, and then in 2010 came the rising inflation rate. There seemed to be just no respite.

All this, combined with the general image of the average Indian of not being a spendthrift and saving more, almost every other want had taken a backseat. This also impacted the number of passengers traveling around the country.

Many people preferred to save money and take vacations at some later time, while those who had no option but to travel for business purposes or any other reason, were constantly on the look out for cheapest airfares and cheapest flight tickets.

And airline companies were only more than willing to bait the little fish that they were getting. Many low cost airlines offered cheap flight tickets to ensure sustainability in their operations.

Apart from discounted rates, airlines also began to look at other factors, like offering great deals and packages to attract more customers. The airline industry had no option but to come out of the already lean year of 2009, which was hit by the global recession.

Today, air fares rates have become so low, that more and more people, who have never traveled through the airlines before, are trying out this option, letting go of their old mode of rail transport.

With the way things are shaping up, the future looks bright for the airline industry. Inflation or no inflation, at such cheap rates of flight tickets, travel industry would definitely stay a big leap ahead!
