Check Out This Amazing Blu-ray

Stargate started in 1994 as a science fiction movie and went pretty much straight to the small screen. It was just released on blu-ray and looks amazing. James Spader and Kurt Russell, both great actors are in this action/adventure film.

Spader is a scientist that decodes an ancient Egyptian artifact that mysteriously creates what they call the Stargate. It is a portal for traveling across the universe as well as time. Once they decide to jump through, which you knew was going to eventually happen, the craziness begins. There is plenty of trouble for them to get into and they have to fix a big mess.

The movie as well as the special effects hold up pretty good considering that the movie is fifteen years old. The picture is crisp and the sound is great in all its high definition glory. The extended cut of the film is unrated and adds some scenes not seen in the theater. Unfortunately, the other extra content is pretty skimpy on the disc, but what you come here for is the movie, not the extras.

But you have to consider whether this version is going to make you want to trade up from your DVD copy. If you have the DVD and dont care about seeing the film in HD, then it might not be worth upgrading to. But if you dont own the film yet or really want to see how great it looks in HD, then this is a great Sci-fi movie.

It is a great adventure that has not lost any of its impact and story. Kurt Russell gives a great performance as the tough as nails soldier who has to come out
