Chicago Cosmetic Surgery For Post Baby Makeover

Child birth is one of the most physically taxing events a woman will ever undergo in her entire lifetime. No woman can make it through the experience without damaging her body to some degree.
The effect that pregnancy and the child birth process varies with every individual and age, but many women find that even with strict diet and exercise that their body has been permanently altered.

Fortunately, plastic surgery can help you get back your pre-baby body. Cosmetic surgery procedures such as breast lifts and tummy tucks can help address poor muscle and skin laxity that results from pregnancy, increasing your confidence and body image.
These procedures can be done alone or combined. Your plastic surgeon may also recommend additional treatments such as liposuction to achieve optimal results.

As we age or after our pregnancy, the breasts tend to lose volume and the skin stretches and sags. A breast lift can help give the bust line a more youthful, perky appearance by tightening the muscle and skin and repositioning the nipple and areola if necessary.

The most common technique used for breast lifts involves creating an incision beneath the natural crease of the breast that extends vertically up to and around the areola, somewhat resembling the shape of a ship anchor.
Excess skin is cut away and the breast is repositioned into a higher, more appealing position. If necessary, the areola will be reduced and repositioned as well.

Scarring after a breast lift depends on the individual and surgeons do their best to naturally camouflage incisions within the contours of the body; however, it is often quite noticeable. If you are prone to keloids or highly visible scarring, consult with your surgeon about other options available. Many surgeons have developed modified versions of the cosmetic surgery to further minimize scarring while still achieving attractive results.

Pregnancy also causes the stomach muscles to weaken and in some cases beyond natural repair. Although a tummy tuck is not a weight loss method, it can help remove excess flab and hanging skin around the midsection while tightening the underlying muscles to flatten the abdomen.

During the procedure, a large incision is made that runs from hip to hip. The skin is peeled back and the muscle below is tightened with sutures. Excess skin is cut away and the remaining is sewn tight back into place. As with breast lifts, tummy tucks are notorious for leaving large scars. They can generally be hidden below the bikini line, but this varies by individual case.

As with any plastic surgery, both procedures carry risks and complications. Bleeding, skin necrosis, infection, and hematoma are all possible regardless of health or the surgeon's skill level.

To help prevent these risks from occurring, it is advisable to quit smoking as soon as possible before the scheduled cosmetic surgery, as well as follow any other surgeon's orders pre and post op. It is also important to choose a qualified and board-certified plastic surgeon to perform any and all procedures.
