Child Bedwetting Solutions Do Exist

Most children are toilet trained by the time they are three to four years old, wetting the bed at night is still a familiar problem for many six to eight year old children. However it's considered normal for children to occasionally be wet at night (and in the daytime) until they're about five. Children who wet the bed do so simply because they haven't yet developed the muscles necessary for holding their bladder in all night.

Bedwetting children do not wet the bed on purpose to get even with their parents, and they do not do it because they are too lazy to get out of bed. It is usually transmitted from parents to children, being more common among boys. Studies show that parents who were bedwetters are up to 70 percent more likely to have children who also wet their beds.

Do Not Punish The Child

Children who wet the bed often suffer from low self-esteem, withdrawal, stress, fear, and other problems. Parents may also feel frustrated, embarrassed and annoyed at their children's bedwetting problem. Their attitude might have an adverse effect on the children. As a parent, you can help your child reduce negative feelings about his/her bed-wetting condition and speed up the process of overcoming it, by offering positive support, understanding and encouragement.

Children rarely wet the bed on purpose. Take the time to listen to their fears and concerns. Children deserve an explanation of what is happening to them. Many children hide the problem and think something is wrong with them. Children are usually upset and ashamed when it happens. Do not punish the child.

Bedwetting Solutions

Bedwetting solutions do exist, but are not the same for everyone. Doctors will tell you that trying to find bed wetting solutions requires a lot of sensitivity. If a child has never been able to sleep through the night without wetting the bed, the bedwetting solutions may involve some form of behavior modification.

Eventually, most children will simply outgrow wetting the bed, but for frustrated parents -- and embarrassed children --there are bedwetting solutions that are not widely known. So while there is nothing to worry about if your child is wetting the bed, it can still be wise to use bed wetting solutions to limit the frustration and embarrassment that these episodes can cause. Once you evaluate the seriousness of the bedwetting problem, then you can devise how you want to tackle the bedwetting solutions.
