Choosing An Online User Name For Your Network Marketing Profiles
Each day as I log into message boards and social networks I see new members. Every community wants to grow through new membership. Each new user needs a unique user name. There are few limitations on choosing a user name so I see everything from company names to personal names and even pet names.
For this article, my focus is on having accounts/usernames to help promote your network marketing business. Since there are hundreds of other consultants out there all also seeking new business, it’s my suggestion that you choose a name you can brand. I personally choose to use either my first name alone or my first name along with the first letter of my last name. This is how I want to be known and how I want to branded, as me.
When I see people sign up with names like “iearnmillions” I just shake my head. There is nothing branding about this username and for the very person you wish to attract, they will be turned completely off by this.
It’s a known fact that people like to do business with those they know. When you have a first name as your user name this helps lead to others feeling like they know you. When everything you write and say is signed by “iearnmillions” there is not a real person attached to the name. You really are going to attract those who hope to win the lottery.
I do know a few people who have chosen usernames that describe something about them. One example might be “FloridaVA” (VA standing for Virtual Assistant) or “OhioCrocheter”. These names are still “unique” and these people always use their real names in their writings.
Before you choose a user name, consider what your purpose is in creating the name. Who do you hope to connect with and will this name help in making that connection? Consider how you’ll be branding yourself and how others will refer to you.
