Start thinking about selecting a veterinarian before taking home your new pet. You can even ask the veterinarian to guide you in choosing what breed best suits your personality, work schedule and life style. It is worst to look for a veterinarian when you really needed one so you better prepare ahead and choose wisely.

Before deciding, check if the facility is clean, comfortable and well-organized, know the process or flow when going there for checkup and ask if appointment is required. There are some veterinarians who are high-priced than the others and if it fits your budget. Once you already have selected a vet, schedule your first visit so that you, your dog and your vet can get to know each other.
