Whenever a client expresses interest in an SEO firm’s work, usually the SEO company sends ghostwriter samples for evaluation. If the client likes the samples, he or she approves the deal and work begins on these web marketing articles.

Occasionally there can be a problem whenever a client chooses a ghostwriter without really looking closely at the provided samples. (There may be several samples attached to a bid) The client might assume that because the samples were well written, the ghostwriter is an ideal candidate for the project. This is not necessarily true. The ghostwriter, while being competent, may lack the proper voice or experience with the subject matter to write an excellent series of articles.

This is no one’s fault; it is just a miscommunication. However, more problems can result if a client requests multiple revisions or demands money back. All of this tension could be avoided if there were clear communication between the SEO firm and the client early on. If you are provided with a specific writer’s samples then read through all of them, paying close attention to style and voice.

If you find an article you like then save it and point to it as a specific example of what you want from the SEO company for your future project. The sample article can then be returned to the ghostwriter and can serve as a guideline for what style, tone and content is appropriate.

There is no need for any party to be dissatisfied with such an arrangement. If there is clear communication and proper follow up then the guidelines will be concrete, and articles can be completed as quickly as possible. In the end, communicating with your SEO firm can help prevent long revisions, delayed projects, rewriting, bad feedback and estranged work relationships.

Remember, you as the client always have the right to request more than one sample from a certain ghostwriter. Seeing a complete portfolio of work can help you to make up your mind, whether this particular writer fits your company. If not, an SEO firm can help match you up with another ghostwriter that works. Communication is key!
