Choosing A House Design
If you fall in love with one design, but not the builder who owns it, you may be able to get an architect to draw up plans similar. He will need to make enough changes to the design that so that it will not be considered exactly the same as the one you like to avoid being accused of stealing copyright. An architect needs to be registered with the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. Not all architects specialise in building homes, so make sure you get one who does. Architects can be quite expensive though, so you could consider having a draftsperson draw up your own design. They can only give limited advice, so you really do need to know what you are doing with your design to use their services.
