Choosing An Ideal Location For Your Fall Wedding

1) Consider an apple orchard filled with colorful leaves, majestic trees, and delicious apples ready for picking. Simply contact some local orchards and inquire as to whether they would be willing to provide a limited-time use of one section of their field for a small, intimate wedding party. After the ceremony, return to your chosen reception venue which has been decorated and planned around an apple orchard theme. If this can’t be arranged, check to see if they would allow you to take wedding pictures there at least. Be prepared to pay for the privilege of using this area too.

2) A vineyard is also a popular choice with many brides and grooms. Purple and green grapes hanging from the branches provide a lovely background for pictures. Some vineyards actually have wedding packages available. Plan your entire wedding around a wine/vineyard/grape theme. You could even include some pre-dinner wine tasting for your guests.

3) Local nature parks provide a perfect setting for a fall wedding. The trees themselves provide a wonderful decorating scheme. Plan your wedding theme around a variety of colorful leaves.

4) If you're wedding date isn't until late autumn when the weather can be unpredictable or if you aren’t interesting in having your wedding outside, look for 18th century style churches, Tudor style inns, historic villages, or a large barn in which to hold your ceremony and reception. These places have loads of interesting character and lend themselves to being decorated in fall foliage and decor. If possible, choose locations that provide warmth using rich dark wood on the floors and/or walls, as well as welcoming fireplaces.

As you can see, with a little bit of footwork and scouting around, you're apt to turn up some pretty decent locations in which to hold your ceremony and perhaps even your reception. Even if you can't secure any of these types of venues in your area for your nuptials or reception, you may be able to use them for photo shoots. So start taking a look at what's located near your city or town. You may be surprised at what's available.
